  1. Hi Jose,
I really enjoyed reading your Keystone project, you were extremely thorough! It is great to have 1:1 mobile devices, you can do so much in the classroom. What I really like is that you have both provided students with websites that provide reliable information and also provided opportunity for choice by allowing Google. Your exemplar sites would provide guidance for the students Google searches! Great job!

  2. Jose,
Your lesson seems to have many great features to get the students not only using ICT's but also doing what appears to me to be a very fun projecting in creating a comic book. I feel when a student can actually sit back and see something they built/created, it really makes them not only enjoy learning but also I think they learn and remember more. great lesson!

  3. Jose,
while using a student check list, do you let the student self assess themselves? I find it very effective, especially when the students are producing something. Thanks fort he great lesson.

  4. The student checklist acts as a guide for the students. The students rated themselves as they went on. The final rating was determined by the teacher. wIt really helps the students when they know exactly what the teacher is looking for.

  5. Hi Jose,
I must say, the first thing that stood out to me when I looked at your lesson plan was the large amount of literacy skills you added into the lesson. Sometimes I am lucky if I can find and make good use of one or two in a lesson, but to use that many is truly amazing, and just great to know that you are giving these kids such a strong push at an early age.

  6. Jose,
Your lesson looks really engaging for students between the iPads and Comic Life and utilized different learning styles. This was great way to incorporate a variety of literacy skills in a cross curricular way. I also liked that you had a student centered rubric in addition to a standard one. Great job!

  8. Joe,
I love the idea of having students create comic strips (it's something I can recall doing in school). I think the fact that your students were able to use the iPads to do so not only incorporates technology, but it engages students. From my experience, students enjoy the implementation of technology, but they LOVE when that technology includes an iPad. Well done!

  9. What an exemplary lesson! Very interesting that students asked about the criteria of the project, which means that they are hold accountable of their own learning. Yup it's always good to start with mini-project before the full implementation. Wow this is really a great way to engage and exite students in the learning of social studies. Great job!!! :D
